The Petrus Group is a full service commercial real estate firm handling all aspects of leasing, sales (acquisitions and dispositions) and development, asa well as currently soliciting equity commitments for its two initial investment funds The Petrus International Fund and The Petrus National Fund ("The Funds"). The Funds will primarily invest in the Washington, DC MSA which historically has served as a gateway to the global marketplace with very strong economic and demographic fundamentals. The perpetual activity of the federal government through both economic expansions and recessions provide the real estate market of the region with additional stability and will help cushion the Washington region's real estate from the troubled credit markets in 2009 and beyond.

Additionally, as the federal government accounts for not only 10.6% of the jobs in the region, it is also responsible for attracting over 100 major contracting and service companies to be headquartered close to government agencies and thus provides significant exponential growth. The region is also a headquarters location for many other major companies, including 23 Fortune 500 companies.  Some of these include Lockheed Martin, MCI, General Dynamics, Nextel Communications, Marriott International, Host Marriott and Fannie Mae.  In 2008, 64 local companies had a market capitalization of over $1 billion (Greater Washington Initiative).
